Dr. Debra Shelby, PhD, DNP, FNP-BC, DCNP, FACDNP, FAANP                                                              Clinical Director/Dermatology Practitioner

Dr. Shelby is a board certified dermatology nurse practitioner (DCNP) and a board certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) with over 22 years of dermatology experience. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2008 from the University of South Florida, where she developed and completed the first national dermatology residency program for NPs in the country. In 2014, Dr. Shelby earned a PhD with a cognate (foci) in Dermatology/Biomedical Research. Dr. Shelby past clinical experience includes multiple-specialty nursing board certifications, including Perioperative, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Her role as Clinical Specialist at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa allowed her to gain valuable experience in medical and surgical oncology, including being educated by leaders in cutaneous oncology research and treatment.

Dr. Shelby is the Founder and President of the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners (NADNP); Founder, Board Director, and Fellow of the American College of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners (ACDNP); and a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Her 30+ years of healthcare experience include over 20 years as a medical and surgical dermatology nurse practitioner and over 30 years of multi-specialty surgical experience. Throughout her career, she has served as an international dermatology expert, involved in international medical and surgical dermatology, chairs national dermatology conferences and educational programs, and has published articles, blogs, and  served on editorial boards for peer-reviewed journals. She has served as an expert consultant for the medical and legal communities. Dr. Shelby’s community service ranges from free dermatology care for the underserved to donations to a multitude of charities from funds raised by the NADNP annual conferences.


 Paul Rose, MD, JD  Board Certified Dermatologist

Dr. Paul Rose has over 25 years of experience in hair restoration surgery and is a recognized leader in the field. He is committed to the ideal of striving for optimal results in every patient and doing so with professional honesty and integrity. Paul Rose, M.D., J.D. is recognized internationally for achieving natural hair transplantation results. He has lectured widely, published and written numerous articles and book chapters; on dermatologic and hair restoration surgeries as well as medical therapies for hair loss in men and women. Dr. Rose has participated in clinical and basic science hair research and continues to do so. He is Past President and Board Member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Hair Foundation, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation. He is the recipient of the Golden Follicle award the highest award afforded to an ISHRS member. The award is given for contributions to the science and techniques in hair restoration. He is currently the Chairperson of the American Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ASHRS).

He is one of the creators of the Follicular Isolation Technique, “FIT” where individual hair follicular units are removed from the donor area without a linear incision and he also developed the “ledge” trichophytic closure technique which minimizes donor scars by directing hair to grow through the line where the donor strip was taken.

Dr. Rose received his M.D. degree from the State University of New York and completed his dermatology residency at Temple University Skin and Cancer in Philadelphia. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. He has served on the Clinical Faculty of the Department of Dermatology at the University of South Florida School of Medicine.
